Description

The tour starts in Schwanden and leads along the Linth slightly uphill to the valley station of the Braunwaldbahn in Linthal. It is recommended to take the Braunwaldbahn to bridge the approximately 600 m of altitude to the car-free mountain village of Braunwald. The funicular transports bicycles and mountain bikes free of charge.

From the Braunwald sun terrace, the route leads past scattered alpine huts up to the Bächibeizli excursion destination on Alp Bösbachi. The Beizli is located directly on the route and in the middle of the areas of Alp Bösbächi, Mittelstafel. Everything around the pub testifies to this interplay. The cows are close to being stroked, the bells delight our ears, the freshly produced Glarus Alpkäse AOP is available in the immediate vicinity.

From the Bächibeizli we leave the official route 307 for a short time and cross to the right via Tschingel directly to point 1235. Once back on Route 307, it goes downhill. With a constant view of the valley floor and in front of an impressive panorama, the route leads past scattered alpine huts, through forests and meadows to Schwanden to the starting point.

The route via Oberblegisee is only recommended for technically experienced mountain bikers. The legendary Oberblegisee is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Switzerland and is also easily accessible on foot from the Bächibeizli.
