Details
Description
A varied hike along the Ova dal Fuorn. Especially in the first section between Il Fuorn and car park 7, the contrast between a humid alpine mixed forest and a dry mountain pine forest is impressive. The second section between the former car park 7 and the finish at Buffalora largely follows the Ofenpass road, whose noise emissions unfortunately affect the experience of nature.
Note: Dogs are not allowed in the Swiss National Park, not even on a leash. For more information and all protections, see nationalpark.ch/schutzbestimmungen.

Directions
The route starts directly at the Postbus stop Il Fuorn (P6) (1794 m above sea.M level), opposite the Hotel Parc Naziunal Il Fuorn. This is also where the nature trail begins.
At the end of the car park, the path leads into a moist mixed forest consisting of larch, spruce, pine and swiss stone pine and leads along the Ova dal Fuorn. On the opposite side of the valley extends the forest fire area of 1951. On two bridges the path crosses the stream from the Val Chavagl and later the Ova dal Fuorn.
On the north side of the water, the path climbs up to the Ofenpass road and leads through one of the driest forest sections of the Swiss National Park.
Past car park 8 (1887 m above sea level.M), the path leads towards Val Naira. A few hundred meters east of the former parking lot 9 flows from the Val Brüna a twin stream. North of the Ofenpass road stretches a slightly sloping pasture, the lower meadow of Stabelchod. In the northwest corner, a fence stands out, as it can also be seen in other places of the park.
Through scientific studies of plant production inside and outside the fences, the influence of ungulates on the development of the plant cover can be tested. On the banks of the Ova dal Fuorn you can also see the remains of wooden structures. They come from so-called Triftklausen, which were still used until the middle of the 19th century for rafting wood.
Afterwards, the path leads for about 200 meters to the Ofenpass road (1932 m above sea level.M.). Then the route branches off to the east, crosses a small stream that has its origin in a rich spring on the north side of the road, and then reaches the Wegerhaus with the Postbus stop Buffalora (P10) (1968 m above.M sea level) and thus the destination of the route.
