The tour starts in Pontresina with the ascent towards the Bernina Pass. In an alternation of trails and gravel roads, follow the eastern side of the valley to the Montebello curve of the main road and follow it to a bridge on the right. Now we go on trails to Bernina Suot and from here into the ascent through the wonderful Val da Fain. This leads to Alp La Stretta on a gravel road, then continues on a trail to the La Stretta pass. Here you are now already in Italy and could drive down to Livigno. However, we take the way over to Forcola di Livigno. This is very demanding, requires surefootedness and an absolute head for heights. The section is partly heavily blocked and the bikes have to be pushed and carried over scree slopes. Then the path becomes more fluid and descends to Forcola di Livigno. Back on Swiss soil, you now climb up to Fuorcla Minor on the well-developed trail, fit mountain bikers can master this climb completely in the saddle. Here you are in a wonderfully high alpine region and could ride down the technically demanding trail through the Val Minor. On the other hand, we follow the signposted mountain bike route to the Bernina Pass and from here take the well-known and also signposted mountain bike path through the Val Bernina to Morteratsch. On the gravel road along the railway line, you finally roll back to Pontresina.
