Description
The start of this trail run is very moderate: almost flat and on a well-maintained path, which is particularly popular with families (Heidi path). After the Vilterser Obersäss it really starts with the ascent. We are rewarded with a crystal-clear mountain lake on the way: the Viltersers Seeli. A second lake on the way is the Sunntigweidsee, an artificially created reservoir in a wonderful location. From the beach chairs, which are positioned here, you have a magnificent view of the valley.
Geheimtipp
At Pizol, trail running workshops take place on various dates. Accompanied by certified running guides and professional athletes.
Sicherheitshinweis
The mountain trails can be slippery depending on the weather.
Ausrüstung
Normal trail running equipment (trail shoes recommended everywhere). Take enough food and drink with you (self-catering principle).
Directions
The gondola lift takes you from Bad Ragaz to the starting point in Pardiel. Here we walk on the well-developed Heidipfad towards Schwarzbüelhütte. This section contains almost no difference in altitude and is therefore perfect for a leisurely introduction to today's trail run. We walk right at Alp Schwarzbühl towards Vilterser Obersäss. This is our next destination, which we reach on a great trail and through rough vegetation. Now comes a crisp ascent towards Vilterser Seeli. Past an alp and the cross at the Tagweidli we manage almost 300 hm. At the lake we turn left again towards Pardiel. At the junction (made of wood – only described from one side) we go right in the direction "Suntigweidsee". This section of the trail is not included on all hiking tools, but it is very well maintained. After a great climb, we come to the Suntigsweidsee, which comes up with a very special idea: Where in the Alps can I find beach chairs that invite you to relax? From here to the finish in Pardiel you can once again enjoy the great view towards the Rhine Valley. A forest path takes us back to the starting point. With the gondola lift it goes back to Bad Ragaz.
