Description
Above the small village of Laus, the hike begins on wide paths toward Lag da Laus. It goes steadily uphill, past barns and flower-rich meadows. Behind you, the view of the surrounding mountain world becomes more beautiful and impressive. Lag da Laus itself lies nestled in an idyllic mountain forest and pasture landscape—a scene straight out of a picture book. High above, behind the mountain lake, is the ridge of Alp da Laus and the rocks of Garveras.
The silence, the water, and the surrounding nature make this place a true power spot.
You can return either by the same path or via a gravel road. We recommend the gentle descent via the gravel road as a nice alternative to the ascent route.
Hidden Gem
Bring grill items to cook lunch at the official fire pit.
The exposure is to the north. In early summer and late autumn, the hours of sunshine are quite short.
Safety Note
If weather conditions are uncertain, the route should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar approaches during the hike, you should turn back in time.
Equipment
Hiking boots, weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket), first aid kit, drink, food, possibly hiking poles
