Details

Description

The almost 2 km long cross-country skiing circuit is groomed for skating and classic style. The start is below the village in the direction of Pleif church.

Cross-country ski passes can be obtained from the Vella information office. Day passes can be purchased at the cross-country ski trail.

Important note

The trail is closed for grooming from 18:00. Running on a freshly groomed trail destroys it for the next day. We therefore ask you to use the trail only during the day. Thank you very much!

Geheimtipp

This trail is perfect for short training sessions in between.

Ausrüstung

Good cross-country skiing equipment. Great importance should be attached to functional cross-country skiing clothing, suitable cross-country skiing boots, poles of the right length and cross-country skis of the right length. Sports goggles with UV protection should be worn to protect your eyes.

Cross-country skiing equipment can be hired from Menzli Sport in Vella.

Postbus line 90.441 Ilanz - Vrin. Vella stop

During the winter season, the Postbus can be used free of charge by everyone on the Ilanz – Vrin line and on the other lines throughout the municipality of Lumnezia.

Anreise Information

Take the motorway exit Reichenau / Flims / Ilanz, in Ilanz take the exit towards Vrin.

Parking

Parking in the center of the village at the playground about 300 m from the cross-country ski run.

The bus stop for the Lumnezia bus is located at the post office stop in Vella. The bus runs according to the timetable, but only by appointment at least 1 hour before departure.

Church Surselva

Kirchen, Kapellen: Baselgia Pleif, Sogn

The church of Pleif is the oldest church in the valley. The church of St. Vincent was for centuries the main church of the valley, where the dead from Vals to Vrin were laid to rest in the cemetery.

Heiligennische "Caplutta", Vella

The gentle hill Caplutta with the small niche of saints is noticeable from afar. It is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Val Lumnezia. Feel the relieving energy under the birch trees.

The steeply sloping hill south of the Caplutta is the gallows hill La Fuortga. Male delinquents were executed here in the late Middle Ages.

The hill, Cresta da Tgauns, is located on the road that leads from Vella to the valley church of Pleif. In the Middle Ages, witches from all over the Val Lumnezia were mercilessly executed and burned here.
