Description
Directly after the car park, you walk over a large dam wall, which is supposed to hold back heavy rainfall. The river collects all the water from the Forno Valley, which used to lead to the destruction of places in the Bregaglia (Stampa) during heavy rainfall. Then it goes to Bitabergh Lake through beautiful coniferous forest. Part of the route is laid out there as an adventure trail for children (smuggler's trail). A suspension rope bridge is likely to be the most spectacular. After Lake Bitabergh, continue uphill on an easy alpine path to the highest point of the tour. Then descend into the Forno Valley to the idyllic Cavloc Lake. There you have a magnificent view of the mountains in the valley: Pizzi dei Rossi and Monte del Forno among others. Then we pay a visit to the Alp da Cavloc. There you can buy goat's cheese directly from the producer. A mountain hut / restaurant by the lake offers an ideal resting place. Return to the starting point on a gravel track. Worth seeing on the way back is the gorge, which can be seen from a bridge, the historic Villa Baldini (which looks a bit like Hogwarts). Orientation: to the restaurant Cavloccio white-red-white / hat (see pictures), from the restaurant no markings but you just have to stay on the slopes. Inexperienced people should take a map or navigation system with them. Types of trails: to Lägh da Cavlo: easy mountain trail, descent from Restaurant Cavloccio: gravel road Refreshment stops Cavloccio: www.engadin.ch/de/restaurants/restaurant-cavloccio-maloja/
Geheimtipp

Alternative way back on narrower paths instead of the V.Alpina (road) is shown in the picture.
