Description

This hike is a round trip where you climb on a crete, traversed at the top, and descend again on the parallel crete. Thus, the view falls at the beginning on the descent route, during the descent on the ascent route.

Geheimtipp

The tour is only worthwhile because of the visit to the Chamanna d'Es-cha.

Directions

If you go on this tour in the summer months, you will hardly miss the Edelweiss in the second half of the tour. From Madulain to Alp Belvair there is a road, but there are also individual shortcuts that lead over dirt roads. From the alp it is over with the path, followed by wide meadow slopes, some of which are climbed steeply. Soon the view of the Bernina massif becomes clear and also the view over the valley is magnificent. The last meadow slope rises steeply again before the Beivair (2821m) is reached. After the highlight of this tour, an unmarked path leads over the steep slopes down to the Val Müra and the Chamanna d' Es-cha. In these sections, where the trail tracks are barely visible, Steinmannli point the route. From the hut it goes over its good way towards the Albula Pass, to the Fuorcla Gualdauna. Here again a small path leads up to the Muntischè (2605m). Over a grass ridge, partly with trail tracks and beautiful views over the valley, it goes forward to point 2528. From here downhill without a path over grassy slopes to the avalanche barriers. There you will find a path that leads from Alp Alesch. At Plaun della Bes- cha this path leads into the Via Engiadina, which is followed the short distance in a southerly direction to Plaun Grand. Then a path leads down to Madulain, whereby the variant over the Ruina da Guardaval is more worthwhile.
