Piz San Gian von St. Moritz

Challenging ski tour on the north side of the Rosatschkammes. Only possible in safe - and in good snow conditions.

The Piz da l'Ova Cotschna is very close, also offers a great view over St. Moritz, and requires 400 meters less effort for its ascent like the Piz San Gian.

From the parking lot at the Hotel Kempinski (subject to payment), climb up the ski slope of the Hahnensee slope. At the altitude of 2040m straight ahead, the steep slope gain. P 2758 and penetrate flat into the wide valley basin, at the end increasingly steep. Bypass the rock bar on the right and left again on a terrace. At the altitude of 2960m through a short, narrow culoir into the small cauldron. Ascend to the northwest ridge and over it all the way to the summit. Depending on the conditions, the skis are deposited on the ridge.
