Description

The Earth is a part of our solar system. The moon, sun and planets are our closest neighbours in space.Nevertheless, the dimensions of the solar system are so large that we cannot imagine the proportions. For a better understanding of these dimensions, the planetary path Disentis-Sedrun serves. The idea for this path came from Brother Magnus and two teachers of the Monastery High School Disentis.  As part of a project week in the gymnasium and in cooperation with Sedrun Disentis Tourism, the boards were created along the way.  The information on the boards is intended to make the dimensions of the cosmos somewhat more comprehensible to the guest.

Geheimtipp

The tour can also be done in the opposite direction.

Directions

The planetary path is marked with brown signposts. We start the hike at the monastery Disentis and we follow from the monastery gate from the Via da Paders in a westerly direction. So we come to the valley station of the cable car. We continue our hike towards Acletta to Segnas. At the western end of the village we meet the popular hiking trail to Sedrun. After a slope we reach the village of Mompé Tujetsch, after which we walk leisurely along the railway line to Bugnei. We traverse the bridge of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. Immediately after the bridge on the right we find an underpass. We walk under the tracks and hike again above the railway line. As soon as we get on the paved road, we stop straight. At the old valley station of the Sesslift to Cungieri we go down and again under the tracks. After the underpass on the right we find the last sign to the planet path. After the viaduct over the Drun stream we already see the station Sedrun. The train takes us back to Disentis.
