Rund um den Grep da Plaids
Show all 7 images
Past spruce forests and the high plateau Plaun da Plaids, this hike is often easily doable even in spring. You enter comfortably along an alpine road and take the wild hiking trail through the mountain forest for the way back and your feet. In the half of Plaun da Plaids, the well-equipped fireplace is waiting for your barbecue food.

Description
On this very varied hike around the Grep da Plaids , the walls made of light roughwacke rock and the bizarre rock towers impress, as well as the vegetation on carbonate-rich rock, which is unusual for the upper Surselva, especially the rare mountain pine stands. Ruins of lime kilns bear witness to the former lime kiln.
First it goes through open forests, mountain pastures and avalanche trains, past several fireplaces and the beautiful flat moor in the Plaun da Plaids. The short ascent to the "Grep da Plaids" viewpoint is very rewarding. The path branches off about 130 m east of the fire pit, is unmarked and only faintly recognizable. The small high plateau exudes the touch of a Nordic heathland.
The hike continues immediately west next to the rest area. After a descent, past Rauhwacke formations with Scotch pines and through high-montane spruce forests on carbonate-rich rock, take the marked path directly above the new reclamation road and cross a wooded wetland on wooden footbridges near Arblatsch. Through the Cuolms da Runs it goes on a dirt road back to Brigels.
