Description
Welcome to the Survitz hiking trail. You start the hike at the chapel of St. James/S. Giacun. The trail continues from Artugl towards Sur Acla. From this point you are at the entrance to the Val Frisal. The mountain landscape with the rushing white water of the Flem is probably unique. To the south, the view falls on the village of Brigels. From Alp da Stiarls the Val Frisal shows its true face: steep slopes and overhanging rock faces, a diverse fauna and flora, the Flembach with crystal clear water, the fine mountain air, which can also become a storm. The Kistenstöckli (2745 m above sea level) is the apex between Graubünden and Glarus. In Muladiras, the three alpine cuboids, Alp Nova, and Rubi border each other. Cattle graze here in summer. The sheep graze first around the village, then to Plaun Frisal. Just a few years ago, the geisshirt drove its herd every day from the village to the Frisal plain and back.
The trail markings in the description of this tour are based on the 1:25000 hiking map for Brigels, Waltensburg, Andiast. The hiking map is available at Infobüro Brigels, Volg Andiast and Waltensburg, and Hotel Postigliun in Andiast.
