Immediately after the start of the tour in Ilanz - the first town on the Rhine - the steep and crisp ascent on the old Flonder road to Flond begins. From here you continue less steeply on forest roads to Surcuolm and finally up to the Graubünden Rigi. After this feat of strength of almost 1000 metres in altitude, it is worth recharging your batteries on the sun terrace of the mountain restaurant and enjoying the unique view of the Rhine Gorge and the surrounding mountains. After the well-deserved break, the first route is along a flowing single trail to the Sogn Carli chapel, which has wrested the name from this tour. Alternately, on single trails and gravel roads, the descent now leads down to Morissen and on to Vella. To master the last two climbs via Cumbel to Sassolas, it is worth filling up the water bottles again at the village fountain or in the Volgladen in Vella.
