Description
Three lakes Hike
We start in St. Moritz and use the Parking San Gian 2 at the cross-country skiing center. Continue to Hotel Kempinski and TCS Camping. We leave the Ristorante Peppino's and the Olympic ski jump behind us. The partially frozen Inn accompanies us to lake Champfer. Instead of walking along the lakeshore, we opt for the direct lake crossing.
The view is rather modest due to the snowfall and the very deep fog.
At the bridge Via da Surlej, just before the castle Crap da Sass there is a clean possibility for a pee break.
After the castle follows a short distance along the shore of Lake Silvaplana, before we finally turn right to walk on the lake.
At the end of Lake Silvaplana we see the Furtchellas valley station on our right side. Not much longer and we are in Sils in the Engadine.
Thanks to the take away from hotel Seraina, we can treat ourselves to a warming break. At Parking Sils / Val Fex there is another clean possibility for a pee break.
We walk towards La Chazza and the Sils/Segl Maria Barchiröls pier. On our right side we have the Chasté peninsula. We turn left into the hiking trail, which takes us through the forest towards the small village of Isola. We trudge uphill and downhill in the deep snow on an already trodden snowshoe trail in the forest until we arrive in the village.
From Isola we walk across the to the other side to Plaun da Lej and take the bus back to St. Moritz.
Due to the deteriorating visibility, we did not hike all the way to Maloja, but over to Plaun da Lej. The tour ends at the bus stop.

Sicherheitshinweis
Observe the visibility conditions. As soon as the fog becomes denser, leave the lake.
Ausrüstung
Especially good and non-slip footwear. Cap, buff or hood for snowfall.
Directions
The paths lead partly through the forest. The route is mostly flat with some ascents and descents. On the snowshoe trail in the forest, the snow is a bit higher. The paths across the lake are well groomed, but with each additional snowfall became a bit confusing and more strenuous to run.
