Description
Start of the hike is Samnaun village, easy to reach by public transport. Behind the Hotel Bündnerhof, the hike begins moderately uphill in the direction of Muttler, the highest mountain in the Samnaun Group. He dominates the Val Maisas, which is first hiked through. After the slope has increased, the shepherd's hut is reached, an ideal place for a first rest.
All kinds of animals can be observed here, e.B including the eagle, which built its nest in the steep rock face opposite. After the Shepherd's Hut, the path branches off to the right below the Rossboden in the direction of Stammerjoch. The path winds in serpentines towards the yoke. Again and again, the trail offers magnificent views of the surrounding peaks. After the Stammerjoch, the highest point of the hike at 2676 m.a.s.M.e., the path winds slowly downhill into Val Chamins. Through lush meadows, the path leads into val Musauna and finally back into Samnaun village, which is also the end point of the circular hike.
Good to know
Attention: Sometimes snowfields have to be expected, current information on the trail situation can be obtained at any time from Samnaun Tourism.
From the junction below Rossboden to the Stammerjoch and down into Val Chamins, sure-footedness is required.
