Description
Day 1: Ilanz-Vrin-Vella
1400 m ascent, 850 TM, 37 km, approx. 4 hours driving time
From Ilanz, the first town on the Rhine, you will ride an e-mountain bike to the culturally rich Lumnezia with its picturesque villages and numerous churches and chapels. The start on the main road (7 km) is perhaps not the most beautiful part of the tour. But already from Peiden Bogn it gets beautiful. We did the tour via the uphill trail (222 Nino Schurter Bike), newly built in 2023. This part is technically and physically demanding and can easily be simplified via the main road to Uors. Now follows an enjoyable route through the Lumnezia, over a suspension bridge in Silgin (can be bypassed) and to Vrin at the end of the valley. Now numerous medium to easy single trails and gravel roads await you to the Davos Munt bathing lake and on to Vella, today's destination.
Day 2: Vella-Obersaxen-Trun-Brigels
1450 m ascent, 1450 mm, 40 km, approx. 4.5 hours driving time
The day's stage takes you around the mountain range with the peaks Piz Mundaun and Péz Sezner to Obersaxen Mundaun. At the Graubünden Rigi, one of the best panoramas of the Surselva can be enjoyed. The short single trail at Sogn Carli (can be bypassed) is a complete pleasure for most. Now the tour leads through the whole of Obersaxen and down to Trun on the Rhine. After the final ascent via the village and alpine road to the Breil/Brigels sun terrace, you will reach the day's destination.
Day 3: Brigels-Lag da Pigniu-Siat-Ruschein-Ilanz
700 m ascent, 1300 m, 31 km, approx. 3 hours driving time
At the beginning we go to the imposing waterfalls at the back of the Lag da Pigniu. After a well-deserved rest, we have to tackle the last kilometers and meters of altitude over side and gravel roads to the two villages of Siat and Ruschein. We take you with this route over moderately difficult single trails down to Ilanz. But you can also choose a downhill ride over the mountain road as your final bouquet. And you're back in the lively small town of Ilanz.
Altitude differences, distances and riding times are guideline values.
