Details

Description

e.g. Yosemite National Park is shaped by impressingly rough granite rocks, high waterfalls, swift streams and an abundant vegetation. This route leads to the top of the Upper Yosemite Fall, one of the highest waterfalls in the world. Of course this means a strenuous climb, but the path is broad and well signposted.

Geheimtipp

e.g. Take your time to climb down to the small platform beneath the plateau and enjoy the great view directly next to the waterfall.

Sicherheitshinweis

e.g. There is no stop for snacks and drinks on the route. Therefore you have to take enough water and provisions with you.

Ausrüstung

e.g. Hiking daypack with rain cover, comfortable and sturdy footwear, durable outdoor clothing, telescope sticks, sun and rain protection, snacks and drinking water

Directions

e.g. From the trailhead follow the steep path leading to Colombia Rock overlook. The trail then climbs through light forest and around steep rocks. As the terrain flattens out, you cross a little stream and climb the last meters to a scenic plateau.

Directions

Public Transport

e.g. A free shuttle bus takes you around Yosemite Valley between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Exit at stop Nº7 “Camp 4 / Yosemite Falls Parking“.

Anreise Information

e.g. Follow the California State Route 120 (from Moccasin or Lee Vining) or 140 (from Mariposa) to Yosemite Valley, continue on the access road to Camp 4.
