Um den Lago Bianco bis zum Aussichtspunkt Belvedere

It is quite easy to go around the Largo Bianco and to the magnificent viewpoint "Belvedere".

The 4 km long plateau at the Bernina Pass is occupied by the large Lago Bianco and the smaller Lej Nair. The glaciers of Piz d'Arlas, Piz Cambrena and Piz Caral are impressively reflected in it. At the southern end of Lago Bianco, you can see the distant, blue Bergamo Alps for the first time. At Mot, the route leads through a larch forest to soon reach the highlight of the tour, the Hotek Belvedere viewpoint. The Belvedere viewpoint bears its name rightly: the view of Piz Palü with the Palu glacier in the west, the Bergamo Alps in the south and to the Piz dal Teo, the Vetta Sperella and the Sassalb in the east is magnificent.

Types of trails: 50% mountain trails, 50% wider trails.

Orientation: moderately signposted, those unfamiliar with the area need a map / navigation system

If the route as a whole is too long for you, you can drive back to the starting point from Alp Gümp (300 m from Hotel Belvedere).

From the hiking car park at the Ospizio Bernina, descend towards the lake.
We circle the lake counterclockwise...
Accordingly, take the Via Albula / Via Valtllina (No. 53 /33 /30) north to the northern dam wall, which you cross to the west side of the lake.
Then continue on a wide path on the west side of the lake to the southern dam wall.
From there, continue south along Via Valtellina (no. 30, 53) to the Hotel Belvedere.
From there, follow the Via Albula / Bernina ( No. 33, 718) in a westerly, later southerly direction to the traverse of the Bernina Railway. Continue in a south-westerly direction on the Alp Grüm-Pozzo del Drago path until you meet the Via Valtellina again.
Follow this road in a southerly direction to the southern dam wall.
Now follow the Via Albula / Bernina on the eastern shore of the lake and after 2 km from there on the "red and yellow" marked path back to the starting point.
