Description

Passing by Misanenga, Platenga you reach Surcuolm. Beneath the village you turn right onto a gravel road and ride towards Flond. Instead of riding through Flond you turn right to Tschuppina towards the Luvenen street. Now the actual ascent on the winding asphaltic street towards Ruschneras starts. Arriving at the highest point 1680 m. a. s. l. you can enjoy the magnificent view onto the Anterior Rhine (Vorderrhein) Valley as far as Chur. The last 5 kilometres are recreative and mostly downhill.

From the capital of the canton of Graubünden, Chur, the Rhaetian Railway takes you through the spectacular Rhine Gorge to Ilanz Bahnhof in just 36 minutes. Then take the post bus line 90.451 Ilanz - Obersaxen to the Obersaxen, Chummenbüel stop

Anreise Information

On the A13 to Reichenau, then on the main road via Flims and to Ilanz. The Ilanz bypass continues in the direction of Obersaxen Mundaun.

Erzbergwerk

Two mines were once operated in the municipality of Obersaxen Mundaun. The silver mines of Affeier and the ironworks in the Platenga-Tobel, whose 240 m long tunnel system is now open to tourists. Surselva Tourism Info Obersaxen organises guided tours to the show mine during the summer.
