Description
The Berry Museum, which is housed in the 100-year old Villa Arona in the heart of St. Moritz, is dedicated to the spa physician and painter, Peter Robert Berry (1864–1942). The majority of his oil paintings, pastels and drawings produced over a period of forty years are still in family ownership.
Drawing on this extensive collection, the Berry Museum since 2004 provides a deeper insight into Peter Robert Berry’s artistic works. These are complemented by the artist’s extensive and culturally-significant estate, consisting of books, letters, notes, diaries, music-related items and numerous documents such as maps, brochures and writings in connection with the founding and development of St. Moritz. Thus the exhibits vividly demonstrate how life, work and landscape all interlink to form a unique picture of the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
