The parish church of Saints James and Peter, consecrated in 1582, was destroyed by an avalanche and rebuilt between 1662 and 1667 by Giovanni Maria Regesono.

Description

The parish church of Saints James and Peter is located in the small village of Selma in the Calanca Valley. The nave is covered by a coffered ceiling from 1937, the choir by a cross vault. In the choir, the arched reveal is decorated with stucco cartouches and rosettes, while in the nave there are paintings from the second half of the XVII century and an altar with a depiction of the Crucifixion from 1680. The altars of the aedicule date from around 1667, with the exception of the granite columns of the main altar. The baptismal font, made of red marble, has a hexagonal wooden lid from 1614, identical to the rectangular pulpit. The Stations of the Cross date back to 1759.
