Chiesa Rotonda

The Rotonda church, dedicated to San Bernardino is located in the center of the Village, at the foot of the hill where the ancient Church of S. Bernardino and Sebastiano is located. It was built between 1867 and 1897 at the behest of the architect Gloria of Milan and follows the project of the Round Church of San Bernardino the dimensions were reduced compared to San Carlo of the Lombard capital; 27 m high and 19 m in diameter at the base, with stone walls ranging from 1.20 m to 50 cm thick starting from the base to the skylight area. The construction work, as mentioned, began in 1867, but for lack of means were interrupted in the middle of the work for about 10 years and after several hardships were completed in 1897 and was officially inaugurated on August 11 of that year.
