Impressive and proud, they stand in the vast landscape, as if they had always stood there. The fact that their naked bodies weather does not bother the women. They have become part of nature and will remain so forever. Powerful. Touching.

In groups of three and four, these women occasionally talk to each other. They tell how fire, earth, air and water rule over Feldis, how the elements make life on the mountain easier and more difficult at the same time. The conversations were eavesdropped on and are recorded on boards.

The sculptor Stefan Hübscher created the archaic-looking women with his chainsaw. He lives in Basel and has a studio in Alsace. Christine Wullschleger, who listened to the women and wrote down their conversations, lives in Zurich. Both have been closely associated with Feldis as holiday guests for years.
