Flysch Landscape at the Fahnenstock
Flysch rocks are the petrified deposits of the primordial ocean from the Tertiary era.
Description
The hilly suface with soft contours is typical for flysch landscapes. Soft shale makes up the even slopes, while the steeper parts in the Chrazerli area are mostly made up of sandstone layers. Occasionally small alluvial planes are dammed behind these hard rocky ridges.
