Football pitch in the Alps - thanks to the glacier

The glacier was able to erode the soft flysch rocks in the area of the upper Segnesboden more easily than the limestone rocks south of today's plain.

A natural hollow in the terrain was created, which filled with rock debris after the melting of the Segnes Glacier.

The glacial stream distributed this rock debris evenly over the entire plain. At the end of the plain, the stream weaved a path through the limestone, creating a deep gorge.
