Ruine Friberg in Siat
The remains of the former Friberg Castle, which belonged to the noblemen of the same name, stand on a mighty rocky outcrop above the village of Siat.

Description

The remains of the former Friberg Castle, which belonged to the noblemen of the same name, stand on a mighty rocky outcrop above the village of Siat. They were related, probably even of the same lineage, to the Frauenbergs. The first representative of this family, Friedrich, is attested from 1255 - 1289. After the Fribergs died out around 1330, the castle changed hands several times until it was sold to Disentis Abbey in 1472. The castle was probably abandoned in the 15th century.
