Description
The famous “Schnauser plow” was produced in the plow forge for over 100 years. Even today, farmers in Bhutan and Bolivia still plow with the light, agile mountain plough. In the fully equipped workshop for metal and woodworking, you will discover what a resourceful mind like Alfred Giger was able to set in motion with water power. The machines needed to produce the ploughs are driven by a 156-metre-long steel cable that connects the workshop to the waterwheel in the Siaterbach (the only waterwheel with cable transmission in Switzerland). Forging demonstrations in the workshop. In good weather, musical entertainment in front of the workshop.
The new 500 meter long forest nature trail leads along various trees and bushes as well as the reservoir. The trees and shrubs are all marked with a plaque featuring a barcode that can be scanned with a smartphone. This takes you directly to Wikipedia for further information. The forest nature trail is free to visit and is suitable for everyone.
