Kirche Nufenen im Winter
The Reformed church in Nufenen is a protected monument of the canton of Graubünden. Since the introduction of the Reformation around 1530, which is illustrated by a stained glass window in the choir with a verse from a hymn by Martin Luther (“Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott”), it has served as a preaching church.

Description

From around 1300 to 1696, Nufenen and Hinterrhein were a single ecclesiastical entity before Nufenen became independent until 1874. The two communities then reunited. The Nufenen church was founded in 1643, when the unrest in Graubünden subsided and the political and ecclesiastical situation stabilized.

The simply plastered church tower is crowned with a striking onion dome. Inside the church, a pulpit without a sounding board on the left-hand side and a baptismal font in the chancel, where communion is also celebrated, stand out. The choir is separated from the nave by a segmental arch.
