The striking castle "Rätia Ampla", which can be seen from afar, characterises the villagescape and the lower Val Surses. From the 19th century onwards, it was more or less abandoned to decay. From 2003 onwards, it was expanded by the theologian and theatre scholar Dr. Giovanni Netzer, who came from the valley, as a venue for the "Origen Festival Cultural", which he founded, and opened in 2006. The result is one of the most idiosyncratic theatre spaces in the Alps. In 2018, the supporting foundation "Nova Fundaziun Origen" received the Wakker Prize. The castle walls are home to the largest colony of grey jackdaws in Switzerland. In the Villa Carisch on the village square, the confectionery tradition of the Carisch family is celebrated. In various salons, pâtisseries as well as coffee and tea specialties are served. In addition to cushions and duvets made of local sheep's wool, the "Atelier Pôss" textile workshop also produces the stage costumes for the performances of "Origen" by hand.
