Description
Agriculture was for centuries the basis of life of the people in the Samnaun valley. The meadows on the steep slopes still characterise the picture today. The valley museum is the last witness of the past epoch and tells of the difficult conditions of that time. The building in which the local collection is housed was an old farmhouse typical for this region. Thanks to the initiative of the commune, a costly restoration was carried out in 1984 in collaboration with the cantonal monument preservation authorities. The objects for the exhibition were painstakingly assembled. The result today is a clearly arranged collection of bygone days.
