img_4kq_dfdefhjf

Description

Surlej was almost completely destroyed in 1793 and 1868 by flooding of the Ova da Surlej. As a result, a dam was built in 1873, and the river led through a tunnel to Lake Silvaplana. This also gave rise to the waterfall that can be seen from afar - and Surlej has ever since been protected from flooding. On the path from Surlej to Alp Surlej.
