Due to its central location, Vella offers ideal access to the extensive winter sports area Obersaxen Mundaun. From the Vella valley station, the 4-seater chairlift (C1) takes you from 1244 m above sea level to Triel 1600 m above sea level.

The village enchants with its picturesque alleyways, squares and buildings. Filisur is one of the most well-maintained historical settlements in the Grisons. Not far away form the village is the Landwasser viaduct and the Greifenstein Castle ruins.

In the middle of the wing of Piz Ela (3339 m above sea level), in the southeast ridge, there is a 2.5 m high and 6 m wide hole – the Ela hole. In February and October, a unique natural spectacle takes place here, when the sun casts its rays through the hole in the valley.
