Event Arosa Lenzerheide
3-day Mauna (silence) seminars
Description
on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, known as Sri Swamiji for short, is known in India as one of the great masters of traditional yoga teachings. He sees it as one of his tasks to accompany people in their spiritual development. The unique three-day Mauna seminar from March 5 to 7, 2025 in the multi-purpose hall in Lenzerheide offers a great opportunity to do just that.
Mauna means silence, stillness. In the context of Indian philosophy, it refers to the stillness of the mind. In the spiritual practice of various religions, including the Christian and Buddhist traditions, silence is considered one of the most demanding exercises. In the Mauna seminar, we make a conscious decision not to speak for three hours during each of the six half days under the guidance of Sri Swamiji and to focus our attention completely inwards. Silence helps us to control our senses. It provides us with a powerful and easy-to-use means of creating a balance to the external demands of everyday life
During the seminar there is plenty of time to meditate or go for a walk in between. Sri Swamiji gives specific instructions for each individual seminar. He himself is present most of the time and recommends that participants spend as much time as possible in the seminar room. On these three days, we are offered a menu at the Hotel Kurhaus that supports spiritual practice, with a choice of vegetarian or vegan. Each day from 9.00 to 12.00 and 15.00 to 18.00 in the multi-purpose hall in Lenzerheide Registration at www.sgs-switzerland2025.com/de
