The Duo Luschaina takes you on a musical journey through different styles and epochs of European musical culture. Experience musical delicacies from different directions: longing melodies of Greek and Romanian folk music, the virtuoso Tarantella by Pablo de Sarasate, the rustic music of the Celts and, last but not least, the musical culture from the Rhaeto-Romanic language area, which gives the programme its name.
The two brothers Jonas Krebs (violin) and Tobias Krebs (guitar) have been making music together since childhood and have been performing as Duo Luschaina since 2014.
The Duo Luschaina feels at home not only in classical music from the Baroque to the modern era, but also in various types of folk music - such as Celtic, Eastern, Mediterranean and many others. Common clichés about classical music and folk music virtually dissolve into thin air, the pieces tell of distant countries, times long gone and of the cheerfulness and melancholy of life.

Another specialty of the duo is handwritten transcriptions of pieces that were not originally written for this rather unusual instrumentation, such as violin sonatas by Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy and Pablo de Sarasate. In this way, famous masterpieces of Western music resound in a new and rarely heard color. Small detours into jazz, klezmer and tango are also not to be missed and complete the concert performances of the Duo Luschaina into a colorful potpourri, so that there is something for a wide variety of musical preferences.
Always on the lookout for enchanting harmonies of the two stringed instruments and undiscovered pearls of chamber music literature, the Duo Luschaina inspires the audience again and again.

The name Luschaina comes from Rhaeto-Romanic and means nightingale.
