Easter Concert

The Swiss jazz saxophonist, flutist and composer Daniel Schnyder and the renowned Archos Quartet from Turin have been working together intensively for several years. Their latest album, Music for Saxophone and String Quartet, is a testament to this fruitful and unique collaboration.

The concert programme has been specially put together for the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz and Easter Saturday. Handel's Messiah, a miracle of musical art, and Bach's phenomenal, poignant St. Matthew Passion, among many other compositions, are illuminated in a new and different way. The focus is on the Orient, its music and history. But the art of improvisation – "extemporizing", as Bach called it – also plays an important role.

Daniel Schnyder combines virtuoso, jazz-related rhythms with traditional sounds and Arabic sounds, creating a fascinating musical bridge between past and present.

The concert is a musically very moving, but also surprising and virtuoso performance of Easter Saturday.
