KONTRABACH × DAVID SONTÒN
Description
This is probably not how Johann Sebastian Bach imagined his music. Around 300 years after his work, KONTRABACH elicits completely new worlds of sound from Bach's music with its very idiosyncratic instrumentation with contrabass clarinet and double bass. Marc Lardon and Daniel Sailer usually screw the music down two octaves and thus develop chords that are sometimes more reminiscent of clusters, but still remain harmonious at all times.
The second part of the evening consists of the world premiere of the 30-minute work "La harpa da taghel" by the Graubünden composer David Sontòn Caflisch. A composition for contrabass clarinet, double bass and tape with reference to the Graubünden writer Theo Candinas.
