MUSIC | CLASSICAL MUSIC

Curiosity, passion, joy of playing – all this is associated with the orchestra "La Scintilla" (The Spark), which plays on period instruments. The musicians of the Zurich Opera united here have been passionate about early music for over 25 years. Concertmaster and founding member Ada Pesch, together with our artistic director David Whelton, has put together an attractive programme for Klosters Music, which includes real baroque hits with the Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 1 by Georg Friedrich Händel, the Canon by Johann Pachelbel and the Concerto for Two Violins in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. Between the orchestral works, Andreas Jost, professor of organ at the Zurich University of the Arts and organist at the Grossmünster in Zurich, will play solo works by Johann Sebastian Bach, and at the end will interpret Handel's onomatopoeic organ concerto in F major "The Cuckoo and the Nightingale" together with "La Scintilla".
