Animals in power – and the world will be a better place! In times when humans are preparing to destroy the earth, such a social revolution as Orwell designs would be a comforting utopia: animals take the things of life into their own hands, or rather paws and claws. Society is reconstituted – without capital, surplus value and money. Everyone is equal.
Ranisch and Rupf climb into the ring of the many animal figures and demonstrate in an exemplary way how a new "togetherness" is created, where everyone is supposedly doing well. And what Orwell initially comes across as a harmless children's story turns out to be a hard-hitting, satirical indictment of totalitarian systems. Because as soon as everyone is equal, some become more equal and the clever pigs expand their supremacy into a dictatorship...
