THE JOURNEY ESCALE

Gwendolyn Masin and Lukas Bärfuss make a stopover. With the violin and with words, they tell of "The Journey", their musical-literary journey to the East, in search of the cultural traces that have shaped Europe. Budapest, Lviv and Odessa are the coordinates. You will find the music of the travellers, by forgotten composers such as Mykola Lyssenko and Zara Levina. They show how a Ukrainian lullaby became an international hit. And they come across the book by Marta Rudzka, an actress from Lviv who was deported by the Russian army to the Vorkuta prison camp in 1940 and whose story leads to Switzerland.
