THE WHITE TOWER

The White Tower rises between the rooftops of Mulegns. It is thirty meters high and stands on the walls of the old smithy. Thirty-two columns support a filigree dome that crowns the building. In summer, the wind blows through the winding columns. In winter, the tower wraps itself in a festive dress and invites you to a concert. The White Tower commemorates the many emigrants who had to leave their homeland and worked as confectioners abroad. The extravagant shape of the tower refers to the imaginative craftsmanship of the pâtissiers in the 19th century. On the top floor of the White Tower is the open domed hall, which will house concerts, readings and installations. The White Tower also holds a technical revolution: it was printed by robots at ETH Zurich. The column elements were mounted in the Surses and cleverly stacked. The White Tower will be the tallest digitally printed building in the world and will bring new life to the village of Mulegns
