The singing chipmunks Alvin, Simon and Theodore are still living happily with their foster father Dave. They are less happy with Dave's new girlfriend Samantha, or rather, with her uncouth son Miles. A misunderstanding leads the rodents to believe that Dave wants to propose to Samantha during a trip to Miami. Without further ado, the trio embarks on an adventurous road trip to prevent the impending engagement - and a terrible stepbrother.
