At the Mädris mountain cheese dairy, the silage-free mountain milk, the natural raw milk from the cows of five mountain farming families, is refined into high-quality dairy products. In the cheese cellar and in the cold room, the unadulterated Mels mountain cheeses and other specialities mature. Their taste is unique, which the fragrant mountain hay in the winter months and the juicy herbs in spring bring to the dairy products. Our Bergheimet and Maiensässe are located on the mountain flank of the Melser Hinterberg at an altitude of 800-1200m. The Chapfensee nature reserve is also embedded in this habitat.
