Description

"Mountains. High mountains. Snow, rock and glaciers. And beyond a sharp ridge, a ladder to the sky. The Biancograt: unmistakable, unique. Your breath stops and the view enchants you. It is the direct route to the highest peak in Graubünden. A mountaineering dream come true after so long.

Guarded hut: mid-June to mid-October.

Destinations: Piz Morteratsch, Piz Bernina, Piz Scerscen, Piz Roseg, Coaz Hut.

Cuisine: Tschiervarösti, fruit cake or homemade walnut croissants.

Special features: high mountain tours and hikes for experts, but also some easier high-altitude tours in a breathtaking world of rock and ice. The area is also perfect for ski touring.

Attractions: unique view from the terrace of the refuge on the Biancograt. As can be deduced from the name of the hut, Tschierva, there are numerous deer to admire as well as chamois.

How to reach the hut: Pontresina/Val Roseg, 3 hours. The first section can also be covered by mountain bike or horse-drawn carriage (reservations: tel. +41 79 944 75 55).
