On the opposite side of the valley, the Lower Engadine Dolomites rise dominantly behind Tarasp Castle, embedding the village in the picture-book alpine landscape. The 400-year-old Alpine Mill Ftan tells of the once rich grain culture. The chairlift Ftan-Prui takes you quickly and reliably up the mountain in summer and directly to the snow sports area Motta Naluns in winter. The children's area directly in the village with a magic carpet makes it easier for beginners to get started in skiing. Pure snow fun for young and old is also provided by the toboggan run between Prui and Ftan.
