Hikers who hike over the Organ or Ela Pass would do well to stop or spend the night in the hut. An insider tip is the tour from Preda to Filisur with overnight stay in the hut as well as the tour from Savognin to Bergün via the Organ Pass, also with overnight stay in the Ela hut. The newer Ela hut can accommodate 26 people and the lower, older Ela hut sleeps 8 people. The hut is open all year round, but only on weekends between July and October. Be sure to sign up! There is no half board, each guest is responsible for the food. The weekend hut keeper helps with the cooking shops, sells red wine and ensures order. Drinks are also available in a box in the anteroom during the summer months.
