Details
Description
The hike starts in the village centre of Bad Ragaz and then leads along the Tamina promenade to the Rhine. The Rhine is also the cantonal border between St. Gallen and Graubünden. Once you have passed the Rhine, you are already on Maienfeld soil. Along fields, the path leads to the wine-growing village of Fläsch, which was awarded the Wakker Prize in 2010 because of the clever handling of the structural substance. We continue along the vines to Maienfeld - the original location of the world-famous Heidi story. In Maienfeld you will find, among other things, the oldest documented winery in Europe - Salenegg Castle. Wines were made here as early as 1068. After a glass of "Herrschäftler", the path leads back across the Rhine in the direction of Giessenpark Bad Ragaz. The idyllic park with the enchanting Giessensee is the green heart of the health resort. A few more meters and you are back on the fairground in the middle of the village center.
