Description
The Outdoor Fitness Trails in the Heidiland holiday region comprise more than 30 uniformly signposted running routes from a total of 10 stations, making it one of the largest open-air fitness parks in the Alpine region. The 3 Villages Trail is one of four running trails around the Unterterzen station.
The starting point for this 7.3 km long trail is the info point of the Unterterzen station on the lake side of the underpass to Unterterzen station (425 m above sea level). From there, the tarred beach path leads along the lake to Murg. To the right, the turquoise blue Walensee and the imposing Churfirsten are constantly accompanied. Once you arrive in Murg, you continue on a footpath down to the lido and the campsite. The next section leads up to the railway station underpass and through the middle of the village. Now the steep ascent begins on a paved road to the hamlet of Rüti (521). Always with the lake and the mountains in mind, the road now runs less steeply through open terrain to below Quarten (584). Here the highest point of the trail is reached. Below the church, the trail turns left into the hiking trail for the descent to Unterterzen. For the last few metres back to the starting point, take the underpass under the cantonal road at the town hall in Unterterzen.
