Description

There has been fresh snow and we are ready to set off before the first rays of sunshine reach the valley floor. In the lower part of the tour, up to the height of the Maiensässe of Giuv, we cross a toboggan run, after which we make a fresh ascent track in the still untouched snow cover. After the Maiensässen of Liets, we have to be careful not to stray into the wildlife rest area, which extends as far as Plaun Liets and Sum Fil.  We quickly gain height in regular hairpin bends and have an increasing view of the whole valley. In the nearby ski area, the first alpine sports enthusiasts are already out and about. The mighty south face of Piz Culmatsch draws ever closer. A dilapidated alpine hut promises to be an ideal resting place and we decide to end the ascent here. Although the tour could be extended with a few more hairpin bends. We don't stay too long, as the south-facing slopes warm up very quickly.

Geheimtipp

With fresh snow and low temperatures you get the ultimate pleasure!

Sicherheitshinweis

Be careful when crossing the toboggan run.

Directions

From the parking lot we walk over the bridge and then on the toboggan run to the railway line. Here we choose the route freely across the field. At the height of the chapel in Giuv we climb in regular hairpin bends towards the north to the mountain pastures of Liets.  We always have the Piz Culmatsch right in front of us. From Liets we are on the left of a wildlife rest area. The descent runs along the ascent route.
