Bärenhorn im hintersten Safiental

The Bärahora is a great ski touring highlight in the farthest Safiental. Challenging, with a long approach and only feasible in very safe conditions.

Description
If you arrive by public transport, you start the tour with about 800 meters of skis to the parking lot at the small reservoir. From there you can enter wonderfully via the winter hiking trail. At the very back, appropriately called "Z'Hinderst", the valley becomes narrower and more alpine. The route leads under the "Chrachen" and over the very steep slopes up to the high valley near Lengegga. Now you can see towards the summit for the first time and know that there is still a long way to go to reach your destination - about 600 meters in altitude. However, if you have an eye for the beautiful ski touring slopes, you know how worthwhile the ascent of the summit is. The stately height of the Bärenhorn now allows an equally fantastic view of the mountains of Graubünden and the southern Alps.
The descent is along the ascent route. It offers great slopes that you won't forget in a hurry. Often you still come across powdery slopes here, when on other tours the Bruchharsch has long dominated.

Sicherheitshinweis
Ski and snowshoe tours in unsecured terrain require good knowledge of avalanche danger assessment and tour planning. Furthermore, a complete safety upgrade must always be carried - regardless of the current avalanche danger.
We recommend the WhiteRisk app and website to prepare and plan the tour.
For carefree enjoyment, we recommend our mountain guides and snowshoe hiking guides of the Surselva.
