There used to be the Tavanasa mountain run. Unfortunately, this is now history, but we can show you an attractive bike tour from Brigels, most of which runs along the old race route. Over 600 meters in altitude are a challenge on foot, but on a bike, or even an e-bike, it's a real pleasure.

Description

If you start the tour from Brigels - alternatively also possible from Tavanasa or Rueun - you can first cover 500 meters in altitude. Most of this is on single trails. Shortly before Tavanasa, we take you along a short trail that is usually only ridden by locals. Then we continue along the Polenweg. Slightly downhill on a comfortable gravel road. At Rueun, you cross the covered wooden bridge built in 1839 and must, or may, now steadily gain back the meters in altitude. A quiet forest road branches off above the village. At best, you will meet other bikers here, but you are more likely to see a deer and cows grazing further up. Finally, you roll over the beautiful Migliè plateau to Lag da Breil and back to Brigels.

Enjoy the end of the tour on the sun terrace of the Hotel/Restaurant Ucliva.

This tour can often be undertaken early in the spring. The snow lasts longest in the forest between Rueun and Waltensburg. There are icy patches to watch out for on the shady Polish Path.

Sicherheitshinweis

The tour should not be undertaken in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes are frequent in the mountains. If a rain front or similar is approaching during the hike, you should turn back in good time.

From the Grisons cantonal capital of Chur, take the Rhaetian Railway through the spectacular Rhine Gorge to Ilanz and on to Tavanasa. Then take the Postbus line 90.461 Tavanasa - Brigels to the stop Breil/Brigels, casa communala
